The BenQ GV50 projector offers a
variety of ways to connect your devices,
both wired and wirelessly.
1. Wireless Connectivity (Recommended for most modern devices):
The BenQ GV50 is a smart projector with built-in Google TV (Android 11), making wireless casting very convenient.
 * For iOS/macOS Devices (AirPlay):
   * Ensure your iOS/macOS device and the GV50 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
   * On the projector, navigate to the "Apps" category.

   * Find and select "Wireless Projection" (or "Screen Sharing for iOS" in some menus).
   * Follow the on-screen instructions.
   * On your iOS device, use the "Screen Mirroring" function (Control Center) or on your macOS device, click the AirPlay button in the menu bar.
   * Select your BenQ GV50 from the list of available devices.
 * For Android Devices (Google Cast / Google Home App):
   * Ensure your Android device and the GV50 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
   * Keep the projector on the Google TV Home Screen.
   * Download the Google Home app from the Google Play Store on your Android device.
   * Within the Google Home app, find your BenQ Google TV device (e.g., "BenQGV01" for the GV50) in the "Devices" section.
   * Select your projector to begin casting.
 * For Windows Computers (Google Chrome Cast):
   * Ensure both your computer and the GV50 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
   * Open a Google Chrome browser on your computer.
   * Click on the three dots (menu icon) in the upper right corner of the browser.
   * Click on "Cast."
   * Select your BenQ smart projector from the list.
2. Wired Connectivity:
The GV50 has several physical input ports for direct connections:
 * HDMI Input (HDMI-1):
   * This is the most common way to connect devices like laptops, gaming consoles (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch), Blu-ray players, and streaming sticks (Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV).
   * Simply connect an HDMI cable from your device's HDMI output to the HDMI input port on the BenQ GV50.
   * On the projector, switch the input source to the corresponding HDMI port.
 * USB-C/DisplayPort Input:
   * The GV50 has a versatile USB-C port that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. This means you can connect devices like laptops, some smartphones, and even a Nintendo Switch with a single USB-C cable (ensure the cable is USB-IF Certified, supports Power Delivery (PD), and data transfer for optimal performance).
   * This port can also provide power delivery (PD out) to charge compatible devices.
 * USB Type-A (Power Only / Reader / Firmware Upgrade):
   * This USB-A port can be used for reading media from a USB flash drive or for firmware upgrades. It also provides power (1.0A) for devices like streaming sticks that require it.
 * Audio Line-Out (3.5mm Mini Jack):
   * You can connect external speakers or headphones to this port for a more immersive audio experience if you prefer not to use the projector's built-in speakers.
3. Bluetooth Connectivity:
 * The GV50 supports Bluetooth 5.0, allowing you to connect external Bluetooth speakers or headphones for audio output.
 * To connect Bluetooth devices:
   * Activate the Bluetooth-pairing mode on your external Bluetooth device.
   * On the projector, go to "Settings" > "Remotes and Accessories" > "Pair Accessories" to add your device.
   * Note: There might be a minor audio lag (around 300ms) when using Bluetooth audio, which is generally fine for music but might be noticeable for movies. You can only connect one Bluetooth audio device at a time.
Important Considerations:
 * Wi-Fi Network: For all wireless casting methods, ensure both your device and the BenQ GV50 are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
 * Firmware Updates: Always ensure your BenQ GV50 has the latest firmware for optimal performance and compatibility. You can usually find updates on the BenQ support website.
 * Copyrighted Content: Some streaming services (like Netflix, Disney+, Hulu) might prevent screen mirroring or casting of copyrighted content when using certain methods, especially wired connections with mobile devices, due to DRM restrictions. The built-in Google TV on the GV50 should handle these apps directly without issues.
 * Cables: For wired connections, use high-quality cables to ensure stable and clear picture/sound transmission.
