📲 Setup on Your Smartphone
* Install the App: Download and install the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone from either the Google Play Store (for Android) or the iOS App Store (for iPhone).
* Enable Bluetooth: Make sure Bluetooth is turned on on your smartphone.
* Open the App: Launch the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
* Start Pairing:
* If this is your first time using the app, tap Start or Start the Journey.
* If you already have a device connected, tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the upper-left corner, and then tap + Add new device.
* Select Your Watch: The app will begin searching for nearby devices. Select your Galaxy Watch 8 from the list when it appears.
⌚ Setup on Your Galaxy Watch 8
* Turn On: Ensure your Galaxy Watch 8 is powered on. It should automatically be in a pairing or setup state if it's new.
* Confirm Pairing: A passkey or code will be displayed on both your phone and your watch. Verify that the codes match and tap OK or Confirm on both devices to authorize the Bluetooth pairing.
* Follow On-Screen Prompts:
* Review and Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
* You may be prompted to sign in to your Google Account and Samsung Account.
* If you have an LTE model, you might see prompts to set up your carrier's mobile service (you can skip this for a Wi-Fi model or if you don't want the service).
* The watch will likely take a few minutes to complete the setup process and sync with your phone.
Once the setup is complete, you can use the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone to manage your watch's settings, notifications, apps, and watch faces.
Need to connect your Galaxy Watch to a new phone?
You will generally need to reset the watch first. Go to Settings on your watch \rightarrow General \rightarrow Connect to new phone, which will prompt you to back up your data and then reset the watch before entering a new Bluetooth pairing mode.
