Setting up your new Lenovo IdeaCentre AIO Desktop is a straightforward process that involves physical connections followed by the initial software configuration.
📦 Initial Unboxing and Placement
Unpack: Carefully remove the AIO desktop and all accessories (keyboard, mouse, power adapter, etc.) from the packaging.
Attach Stand (if necessary): If the stand base isn't pre-attached, you may need to secure it to the back of the monitor unit, often using a thumb screw or pre-fitted clips.
Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface. Ensure there is adequate space around the computer for ventilation and that the cooling vents are not obstructed.
🔌 Connecting Peripherals and Power
Power:
Connect the power adapter cable to the power input port on the AIO desktop.
Plug the power cable into a working wall outlet.
For wired peripherals, plug the USB cables into any available USB port on the AIO.
For wireless peripherals (if included), insert the USB receiver (dongle) into an available USB port. Make sure the keyboard and mouse have batteries installed.
Other Connections (Optional):
Connect an Ethernet cable to the RJ-45 (Ethernet) port for a wired internet connection.
If you are connecting an external display, use an HDMI cable in the HDMI Out port.
Connect speakers or a headset to the audio jack if you're not using the internal speakers.
💻 First Boot and Windows Setup
Power On: Locate and press the Power button (often located on the side or rear of the AIO unit) to turn on the computer.
Initial Windows Setup: The computer will boot up and display the initial Windows setup screen. You will be guided through steps to:
Select your region and keyboard layout.
Connect to a Wi-Fi network (if not using wired Ethernet).
Accept the License Agreement.
Create or sign in with a Microsoft Account (or a local user account).
Set up features like Windows Hello (fingerprint or facial recognition, if applicable) and Cortana.
Desktop: Once the setup is complete, the computer will load the Windows desktop, and you can begin using your new IdeaCentre AIO. You may need to wait for automatic updates to finish installing.
