JBL Flip 7 offers two main ways to connect to a device: Bluetooth Wireless and USB-C Wired for lossless audio.
Connecting your JBL Flip 7 to any device: Bluetooth Connection (Standard Wireless)
This is the most common way to connect your speaker.
Power On the Speaker: Press the Power button (usually indicated by a power symbol) to turn on the JBL Flip 7.
Activate Pairing Mode: Press the Bluetooth button (usually a small button with the Bluetooth icon) once.
The Bluetooth light on the speaker will start blinking (typically white or blue), indicating it is in pairing mode and discoverable by other devices. Note: The speaker may automatically enter pairing mode on its first power-up.
Enable Bluetooth on Your Device: Go to the Bluetooth settings of your smartphone, tablet, laptop, or other audio source. Make sure Bluetooth is turned On.
Select the Speaker: In the list of available devices, look for "JBL Flip 7" and tap it to connect.
Confirm Connection: You should hear a chime or tone from the speaker, and the Bluetooth light on the Flip 7 will change from blinking to solid (steady light) to confirm the successful connection.
Lossless Audio Playback (Wired Connection)
The JBL Flip 7 supports audio playback via its USB-C port for higher-quality lossless audio.
Prepare the Cable: You will need a compatible USB-C to USB-C cable (or USB-C to the appropriate port on your device, like a computer).
Enter Wired Mode:
* Press and hold the Play/Pause button on the JBL Flip 7.
While still holding the Play/Pause button, plug the USB-C cable into the speaker and the other end into your device (e.g., smartphone or computer).
Confirm Connection: You will hear a sound or tone indicating the switch to wired playback, and the Bluetooth light may turn off.
Set Audio Output (If necessary): On your computer or device, you may need to go to your sound settings and ensure the JBL Flip 7 is selected as the audio output device.
Optional: Using the JBL Portable App
For extra features like a custom equalizer, software updates, and multi-speaker grouping (Auracast), download the JBL Portable app from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android) and follow the prompts after your speaker is connected via Bluetooth.
